SO it has been almost a month since I have written on here.. WOW.. this is offically the middle of SUMMER! YAY! Lately, I have been looking back at how things have changed with me and the people around me. All the kids who were babies last year are now walking and talking, my friends have changed(some for the good and some for the bad) and i am meeting new people every day, I have a job now which requires me to make something of myself daily, and not to mention I am a happy person most every day!! I have never felt this good in a long time.. Which is weird.. I have changed spiritual, emotionally, but not physically (I am working on it HEHE).. I am living life to the fullest and I get excited over the smallest things! The children I babysit for our the sweetest, most caring, thoughtful, and just fun to be around kids ever.. and I really think that is what perks me up daily. My life goal is to be a person people look up to and I want to witness to people that even when in a tough situation.. other people have gone through worse and are still doing fine! I want to look on the bright side of things and just ignore the negative stuff! I want to stay positive and be encouraging, honest, thoughtful, whitty, sociable, daring, but always wanting to make some one else's day better:)

thanks to all who read this..

Living through Him,

Daddy's Girl

I know it's been a while since I have blogged but I have been super busy and every day I think of something to write about on here but today I just couldn't go any longer so today's blog is dedicated to my Father. What better person to decicate something to than to Him. First and foremost I am greatful to have my Heavenly father by my daily side and to worship him every day. I am also so blessed to have my earthly father with me today as we shared the wonderful holiday of Father's Day together! We watched golf.. I was in bored tears but I still managed to do it.. along with the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou".. awesome movie by the way.
As I sat through the church service today at Temple Baptist I couldn't help but think about those who have lost their earthly father in the past couple of years. I can not imagine what was going through their minds today on this Father's Day 2009.. my best friend lost her father two years ago and my heart hurts deeply for her along with the sweet Weathers' crew who lost their beloved father and husband only a year ago. Our God is Mighty to Save though and I know both of these families are wonderful examples of how we should live for Him. It amazes me how strong they are while people who have both parents are the ones that feel like they have nothing. I am so confused about life right now and I really am focusing on God's Word rather than trying to fix my life for myself the way I want it.
PATIENCE- is my new KEY word for life. Only God knows when it's time for things to happen.

My Hero...My Daddy...

Daddy's Little Girl

As I look back to see
I remember times spent on your knee

When it came to my biggest fears
you came along to wipe away my tears

But as years started rushing by
I'll have to say with a sigh

You needed me just as bad
and those times were so sad

But now we're a family once more
and I know there's so much in store

You always seem to know when I need a smile
especially when you haven't seen one in a while

We seem to always be on the same page
even though there's a big difference in age

We know how to make each other laugh
and it makes time fly past

Daddy thats why I'm so thankful for you
I would never ask for anyone new

I love you so very much
because you help me with all my problems and such

I know you wish you could give me the world
but I'm proud enough with my title
"Daddy's Little Girl"

my grandmother spoils me!

I know I have said this over and over but I seriously mean it when I say, My grandmother is the most inspirational person I know. Her caring for other's needs, cooking for her brothers & sisters who live in town, and giving to needy causes give her ONE more reason why I love her dearly! The past week I went to visit her for Mother's Day and the following Tuesday her sister, Essie, had major surgery in Nasvhille. My family on my grandmother's side was all at the hospital and it was great to reunite with all of them (they made the 7 hours of sitting in the waiting room go by SO fast). It was sitting in the waiting room looking and talking with family that made me realize how much alike I am with my mom and grandmother. I HAVE ALWAYS wanted to know where I get my personality from and I can honestly say that me and my grandmother are JUST ALIKE. We both care SO much for others, especially our family members. I get my emotions from her and my needs for always wanting just a little bit of chocolate each day:) I love her to death! She is my favorite person to be with! She is blonde at heart (just like me) and we both have our ways of thinking out side the box. When my great-aunt's surgery was complete we both cried tears of joy while everyone else didn't cry a single tear (they aren't as sensible as us). But either way we have an AWESOME family and I am proud to call them mine.

My grandmother spoils me SO bad and she knows it. When I go to Grandma's house, I know I am going to be getting money, LOTS of food, and a HUGE shopping spree with Grandma's card in Nashville! She loves it though! She has 3 grandchildren and I am the only one who wants to come visit her so I am the one who she spends all her money on!:) hehe i am loved! I love her chocolate pies/ brownies/ cakes, ect. she is the best cook ever! I always wake up to breakfast in bed. I am definitely treated like a Princess @ Grandma's!

I have been thinking a lot about relationships lately and I don't know why. I wish I could figure it out. I am definitely leaving this in God's hands. It's not like i WANT or NEED a boyfriend or another guy in my life, it's just that even my mom has talked to me about this subject. The other day she said, "Wow ML it's been 4 months since you have had a boyfriend, don't you want to find another one?" I was like MOTHER, I don't want to FIND a boyfriend.. that's crazy! I want this one to work out on its own.. I want to know what I am looking for first. HE will come one day.. I mean right?? OR am I "that girl" who doesn't get a man until i am like 30 years old? hmm.. LIFE IS SO CONFUSING.. oh well I am up for whatever God's challege may be.

Have a wonderful & safe weekend:) YAYY for SUMMER 2009

Through the calm & through the storms- YOU NEVER LET GO

"Never Let Go"
Matt Redman

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I'm caught in the middle of the storms of this life
I won't turn back
I know you are near

And I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear?
Whom then shall I fear?

(Chorus:)
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me

And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We'll live to know You here on the earth

(Chorus)

Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You, still I will praise You

It's been a while since I last wrote on my blog because I have been thinking if I should continue to keep this up or if it is just a waste of time writing out what has been going on in my life. I listen to K LOVE radio every morning and it was kind of ironic how this morning they were talking about people's blogs being very inspirational and that's what i want out of this.

here's a quick update: I just finished my freshman year of College-WOOHOO! never been so happy to get out of school in my life. I hate school! I really do! lol but anyways.. my parents just got back from Portland, OR and my mom has been home sick ever since they got back. I took her to the doctor tonight and she has something wrong with her ear from the plane rides. Today is my parent's wedding anniversary, my grandfather died 6 years ago, and this Saturday would have been my TWO year Anniversary with G.. I am so overwelmed with emotions right now. I am leaving for Memphis Saturday to go see a friend and then go to my grandmother's house for a couple of days! I AM PUMPED about that though. I need her now more than ever!!!!!! I love my grandmother sooo0oooo much!! Her sister is having surgery on Tuesday and she wants the WHOLE family to come and be with her. She has 11 brothers and sisters so yeah we will have a whole hospital full of family. :) but I just am emotionally drained from thinking about school, family, and still friends.

In need of prayer. Thanks-

Life is filled with happiness, sadness, tears, smiles, laughter and other emotions but when life gets you down, just be strong about it and keep your head up high and have faith in all things in life. Always remember: God is at your side, always.

When I'm crashing through the madness,
Not sure who I'm supposed to be,
When I'm caught up in the darkness,
It's Your hand that's leading me.

Happiness keeps You Sweet,
Trials keep You Strong,
Sorrows keep You Human,
Failures keeps You Humble,
Success keeps You Glowing,
But Only God keeps You Going.

Anyone can give up. It's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you let it all fall apart, that's true strength.

So recently a friend asked me if I have read the book, "He's just not that into you" and I said umm no and she was like Oh my goodness you have got to go read it! It is worth your time! So i went yesterday to books-a-million and bought it.. I started reading it and now i can not stop! It is addicting for sure.. I will let you in on what it is all about. It is mostly on how you get into relationships right and how you act and how you lead someone on and mostly about how girls see guys differently as they see themselves. You may think you are doing the right thing by always being the caregiver but your partner or even friend may think different. This book also makes the reader feel good about themselves. "You are a-m-a-z-i-n-g in and out and you will one day recieve the man/woman of your dreams." This book is coming from a man's point of view but also takes up for the girl! It is wonderful. He (meaning the author) calls men cowards and useless in some chapters. Also, one of my favorite quotes is that "Actions speak louder than words" and it repeats itself millions of times in the book.
Be patient, two words that are SO hard for me to understand. I have always been very unpatient even when I was a little girl... Christmas presents used to be such a hard thing to just look at under the Christmas tree until Christmas morning!! haha my parents always said to just be patient and things will be easier for you! I will agree that I have gotten a lot better of the last year and I am now very laidback and my patience has gotten tons better! Thank goodness! I can now drive and let cars pass me and I don't get mad!:) yay!
Well my weekend was wonderful.. I went to a wedding on Saturday night and it was gorgeous and couldn't have been any better! Congrats to Haley and Daniel Ross! They are the cutest couple ever! Along with their wonderful families!

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK.
YAYY FINALS ARE NEXT WEEK!:) SCHOOL'S ALMOST OUT! yahh..

"...whatever is TRUE, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable- if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise-dwell on these things." Philippians 4:8

We all have the right to dream -and to follow those dreams. As I grow older, I begin to realize that dreams have to exist alongside reality before I can accomplish the better dream. "Dreams" as we learn in my english class can be in many different prospectives. Either you "dream" an actual dream in your head or it can be an ambition or goal in life or other psychological issue. But right now I am going to talk about more of my "dreams" meaning amition and goals in life. I have accomplished many of them so far like graduating from high school, winning championships in tennis, and most importantly making mom and dad proud. In some cases I had many times when I thought that school, tennis, church, friends, etc. were very impossible to level out at the same time but then it all comes down to- With God all things are possible. which is written on a canvas in my room. I have come to find out lately that daily I am the greatest influence on myself and if I have meanings surrounding me in my room, car, and everywhere else with good bible verses and cute quotes then I am always thankful and friendly and just having a good time with living my life to the fullest. It is great! But there bigger dreams for me now and in the future that it is crazy how I am almost through with my freshman year of College.. at least 3 more years and I have to start now by planning out what I want to major in so that I can get a good job with good pay.. and now that the economy is bad... AH almost all the good jobs are already taken! haha but I am leaving it in God's hands to lead me down the right path in finding this job! :) Also.. not to mention.. My biggest dream besides a job would be to get married & start a family of my own.. which will not happen for a couple of years but still.. thats a big thing to start thinking about now because I am almost 20 years old. lol okay soo anyways..
I have had a great last couple of days and I could not ask for better friends to spend time with! As this school year is starting to end.. I have asked God to help me make good decisions for myself and I pray hard daily to let him lead me to meeting new people and going out on a limb for once.. I hung out with some girls that I have never really hung out with before last weekend and oh my goodnes.. did we have a good time? that is definitely an understandment. I had the best time and I can not wait to do it again soon! Then later I met up with another friend who came to see me and I had just as much fun with him as I did the girls.. ;) I am thankful.

my favorite verse:
"For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord,'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
that reminds me that God has a wonderful and unique plan for each person on this earth. Our plans become clear as we seek God, who implants dreams and then reveals his plans as we trust him with one step at a time.

Have a blessed and wonderful week.

When feeling discouraged.. READ GOD'S WORD

I am feeling very inspirational tonight so I will write some quotes and passages from my favorite book in the whole world, "Let God Surprise You" by a former Miss America- Heather McCallum and author Angela Hunt.

Sometimes God allows pain...
to teach us.
Sometimes he allows hurt...
to mature us.

"The Greatest dreams you can imagine will find their source in your greatest passions."

Don't despair when disagreements enter your life. Seek the counsel of wise and godly men and women around you. Check your motivations, stay true to God's word, and if you discern it to be God's will, hold the course.

I smiled when a friend told me this story: A man fell asleep, and in a dream he heard the voice of God. "Come outside," God said, "I have something to show you."
So the man woke up and went outside to find a huge boulder in his front lawn. "Now," God said, "Push against the rock."
So the man pushed and pushed and pushed for days, weeks, and months he concentrated on pushing the boulder, but the big rock would not budge.
Giving into discouragement, the man cried out to God, "I can't do it! You told me to push the boulder. I've tried with all my might, but it hasn't moved an inch."
He heard a soft laugh from above. "Why are you discouraged?" answered the Lord. "I told you to push the boulder- I never told you to move it. Only I can move a boulder of that size. But look at what has happened while you've been pushing- you've developed muscles, you've strengthened your patience, and tested your faith. So keep pushing until I'm ready to move the boulder."

I love that story. Though God will ultimately do the moving, he asks us to be co-laborers with him. He asks us to learn and stretch ourselves. He wants us to work as if everything depends on us, and pray as if everything depends upon him- because, ultimately, it does.

and that is how I see today and tomorrow and however many more days of life I am privileged to possess: Each day is a gift of God, each sound is a blessing I don't deserve. God is SO good!

Our God is a God of healing. Sometimes he heals through miracles, sometimes he heals through medicine, and sometimes he heals through both. Let God surprise you- pray for guidance, then walk through the doors he opens for you.
